Haemamalar Karppaya is a PhD candidate at Monash University Malaysia, with a research focus on mental health and obesity among adolescents. With a background in nutrition and applied statistics, her work aims to improve adolescent health outcomes through evidence-based strategies. She previously served as a Sports Nutritionist at the National Sports Institute Malaysia, where she led research, education, and athlete nutrition programs. Her collaborations with institutions such as Monash University, UKM, and IMU include research, guest lectures, and student mentorship.
Currently, she works as an independent consultant, supporting research-based projects and providing statistical guidance to public health students. She is also involved in the Kachimeshi Nutrition Awareness Program, supporting young athletes in Malaysia. Haemamalar’s goal is to strengthen adolescent health through applied research and promote the integration of nutrition in public health practice.
