YBhg Datuk Dr Nor Fariza binti Ngah Deputy Director General (Research & Technical Support), Ministry of Health Malaysia

Datuk Dr. Nor Fariza Ngah is a distinguished healthcare leader who currently holds the position of Deputy Director for Research and Technical Support at the Ministry of Health Malaysia. She has held notable positions, including serving as the National Head of the Ophthalmology Service for the Ministry of Health from 2014 to 2023 and as the President of the College of Ophthalmologists Malaysia from 2018 to 2023. Additionally, she assumes leadership roles in committees pertaining to the training and subspecialties of Ophthalmology. By profession, Datuk Dr. Nor Fariza is an experienced Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist subspecializing in the fields of Medical Retina and Uveitis. She successfully obtained her Master of Ophthalmology degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and underwent specialized training at Moorfield Eye London. She demonstrates a strong commitment to enhancing healthcare services in Malaysia, with a specific focus on the field of Ophthalmology. Her research interests encompass various areas, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal hereditary diseases, and uveitis. She has made significant contributions to a wide range of publications in the field of Ophthalmology, including papers, books, guidelines, and reports, both at the local and international levels.
